As summer approaches, Chillicothe R-II is thrilled to announce a variety of engaging activities for students, ensuring a fun and educational break! This summer, we invite children in grades K-9 for the 2025-26 school year to register for Summer Journey, incoming students in grades 5-9 to participate in the GRTS Summer Boot Camp, and students in grades 5-8 for the 2025-26 school year to join the Junior Choraliers Camp.
Summer Journey
Summer Journey will run from May 21 through June 25 and is open to children in grades K-9 for the 2025-26 school year. Packets have been sent home, or you can email Jessica O'Berry at CES for a form. Students from other districts are also welcome to attend Summer Journey. Students with perfect attendance will earn a $100 gift card! Summer School transportation will be provided, and the routes will be established after enrollment closes. GRTS Summer Boot Camp
Join us for the GRTS Summer Boot Camp, where incoming students in grades 5-9 will have the opportunity to learn hands-on practical skills through career and technical education courses. Over the course of two weeks, from May 21 to June 6, students will explore all four of these exciting courses, gaining valuable knowledge and experience.
Courses Offered:
PLTW: Engineering
Engage in hands-on experience with building and programming robots. Take on engineering design challenges that test your creativity and problem-solving skills.Auto Service Tech
Learn basic auto maintenance skills like changing tires, checking oil, and monitoring pressure. Get hands-on with bike maintenance and repair.Carpentry
Develop basic carpentry skills with practical, real-world applications. Learn how to measure, cut, and assemble wood projects safely and effectively.Electrical Maintenance
Explore cutting-edge Tech/Master Logic Controllers (MLCs). Understand the technology behind automated systems. Build problem-solving skills essential for engineering and tech careers. Work with sensors, motors, and microcontrollers like Arduino and Raspberry Pi, and apply your knowledge by building real-world projects you can be proud of!

Students enrolled in summer school will be bussed to GRTS for morning programming. Students not enrolled will need to provide their own transportation.

Junior Choraliers Summer Camp
Additionally, we are excited to announce the Junior Choraliers Summer Camp, taking place from June 2-6 from 3:15 to 5 PM at the high school choir room. This camp is open to students in grades 5-8 for the 2025-26 school year and has a camp fee of $60, which includes a Camp T-shirt. Participants will have the opportunity to sing and dance with the CHS Choraliers, culminating in a special performance for parents.
