The Class of 2024 visited CES today for a Senior Walk. Our elementary students were elated to cheer on our senior class!
"Nacho Average Teachers" at Chillicothe Elementary School! Our CES family "Sunshine Squad" brought in a fiesta for our staff today. What a way to celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week! We are so grateful to the many CES families for your kindness throughout the week!
Our 1st graders visited the Litton Ag Center today. The Chillicothe FFA visited CES earlier in the year to help students plant flower seeds. Then the FFA cared for those seeds at their greenhouse. Today, first graders got to repot our mature Mother’s Day Flowers. We also got to visit the animals and pond. Thanks Chillicothe FFA!

First Graders visited Poosey Conservation Area today. What a fun and educational day for our students to learn in the great outdoors! Special thanks to the Chillicothe FFA, Nancy Nowland, and Mr. Patrick along with our 1st grade teachers for facilitating the various activities.
Today, we are recognizing our hard-working cafeteria staff for preparing and serving breakfasts and lunches for our hungry students during the school year! We are so glad to have them on our team!

Chillicothe Elementary Schools welcomes Miss Gabi Hall as a new 2nd-grade teacher! Gabi is a graduate of Carrollton R-VII in 2020 and has just graduated from Northwest Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. During her time at Northwest, she worked for an elementary school's after-school care program, was a student ambassador, and held an executive position with her sorority, focusing on teaching members about their history and values. Miss Hall enjoys reading, baking, and spending quality time with family! At home, she has two corgis, Lucy and Laney, that she loves to talk about. Miss Hall is a familiar face at Field School as a student teacher. "I am so grateful to continue my teaching journey with Chillicothe R-2! I'm excited to start my first year of teaching with second grade and can't wait to make magical, lasting memories with the sweetest kiddos!" Please join us in welcoming Miss Gabi Hall to CES!

Chillicothe Elementary School is excited to welcome Miss Kaylee Myers!
Kaylee will be a 2nd-grade teacher next year. Miss Myers is a graduate of Graceland University and North Central Missouri College, majoring in Elementary Education and Teaching. She is a former Chillicothe student and Chillicothe Paraprofessional Educator. Miss Myers has been a third-grade teacher for two years at S.M. Rissler Elementary School in Trenton, MO. She is graduating soon from Western Governors University with a Master of Science majoring in Curriculum & Instruction.
Miss Myers has an 8-year-old son, Braylin, who will be in third grade next school year, and her significant other is Brandon Askew. In her free time, she likes to spend time with family, shop, travel, and enjoy time outside when the weather is nice!

This evening, CES hosted our first ever "Kindergarten Orientation." Approximately 90 future Hornets attended along with their families to learn more about attending CES. Students visited the playground, had cookies in the cafeteria and were able to sit on the school bus before departing. We look forward to having the Class of 2037 as kindergartners in August!
Our Hornet High Five buckets have been so full that we drew out names of some of the"Lucky Ducks" at CES!
