2021 Track season wrap up from Coach Ben Coult: The Chillicothe Middle School Track team finished their season at Warrensburg on Thursday. This is without a doubt the fastest track meet of the year for the Hornets. I am very proud of the team and how they handled that pressure. Multiple athletes ran their best times of the year and had multiple personal bests in the field. The team as a whole stepped up and had a great day. The Girls team won the meet, which is incredibly impressive, and the boys team got 4th place which is also super impressive when considering the competition at Warrensburg. It was a great way to end the season. I also want to say thank you to all the 8th grade track students. They lost their track season last year, but were able to still come in this year and be good leaders for the team and made this year a resounding success. I look forward to seeing their track careers in high school. Lastly, I appreciate all the people who helped out throughout the season; Coach Dickson, Coach Stephens, Coach Cranmer, Michael Creekmore, Abby Smith, Jeannette Johnson, Pam Brobst, all the teachers who helped keep the students up to date with their studies, and all the friends and family who helped the athletes get ready every day. Thank you for a great year.

A message from Coach Ben Coult: The Chillicothe Middle School track team went to Savannah last night. This is the yearly MEC track event. It is a little different from other track meets, because it is broken into 4 divisions, 7th grade boys, 7th grade girls, 8th grade boys, and 8th grade girls. The Chillicothe track team did very well. The 7th grade boys took 4th place, the 8th grade girls took third place, the 8th grade boys took second place, and finally the 7th grade girls took 1st place. All of the teams did very well and showed a lot of improvement in their events. Many athletes PR’d at what was our first warm track meet. Overall, I was incredibly happy with how we did, and it is always exciting to do so well at the conference track meet. We will finish the season at Warrensburg Next Thursday. Thank you for all the support this year!

A report from Coach Coult on last night's triumph in Trojan land: The Chillicothe Boys and Girls track team traveled to Carollton for the Bruce Finlayson Invitational. The Chillicothe track team was lucky enough to get to run the last meet on the gravel track before Carollton gets their brand new track facility. It's always an interesting experience for the kids, but both the boys and girls stepped up to the challenge. The boys and the girls took first place at the meet. The girls scored an impressive 11 first place finishes and the boys scored 9 first place finishes. I am incredibly impressed with how they did in a strange situation and proud of their performance. Our next competition is the MEC relays, next Thursday at Savannah.

From the desk of Coach Ben Coult: The Chillicothe middle school track team traveled to Unionville Thursday. Both the boys and girls teams had incredibly close and hard fought meets. The boys finished in 2nd place and were within 4 points of the winning team Putnam County. The girls on the other hand won the meet by 5 points beating Brookfield in the final race. Both the boys and girls had many places that they scored personal bests in, and it is always exciting to see the team improving meet to meet. I am incredibly proud of how both teams did against some of the hardest competition they have seen all year. The middle school travels to Trenton on Tuesday in another big invitational.
