It is with honor the 5th grade teachers and Mrs. Chambers accept the first Patty Palmer Memorial Mini-Grant from the Chillicothe Education Foundation. This grant will be used to purchase fantasy novels to coincide with the Lucy Calkins Units of Study reading resource. Mrs. Palmer worked as an education consultant for several universities, was the founder of Operation Outreach (a center for training and supporting teachers), she co-developed economic education curriculum for the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City and was a member of the Missouri Council on Economic Education. Mrs. Palmer was caring, loving, passionate, supportive, infectious with a zest for life and brought joy to everyone. Dewey Elementary will certainly honor her legacy.
