Dr. Dan Wiebers, along with Dewey School Principal Melanie Rucker (right) and Ellen Gott, Dewey School teacher (second from right) are in Washington D.C. this week for recognition of Dewey School as a National Blue Ribbon School.

While R-II School students did not have classes today (Tuesday), building leadership teams from all three elementary schools began planning today for the eventual transition to 1 elementary school as part of the planned in-service day for staff. It's a great day to be a Hornet!

Dewey parties are tomorrow. See the picture for times. #dewey45

Just a friendly reminder....

Our teachers are always learning! Last (Monday) night, they began a study on Ruby K. Payne's Emotional Poverty research. Ruby Payne holds a Ph.D., and is an American educator and author best known for her work on the culture of poverty and its relation to education.

Please note bus changes for tomorrow. Busses 12 and 17 will pick up Bus 18 students. #dewey45

Dewey Fall Picture Retakes are Monday! #dewey45

Red Ribbon Week is next week and we are excited to celebrate with dress up days. Please accept my apologies as our days are not exactly like other schools. We have picture retakes on Monday and a special guest on Thursday. Thank you so much for understanding. #dewey45

Here's just a few pictures showing what's going to be auctioned off tomorrow morning (Oct. 21st) at 10 AM in the Chillicothe High School parking lot! There's chairs, tables, kitchenware, vehicles, and much, much more!

October is Farm to School month. Mrs. Thompson’s and Mrs. Gott’s classes completed their reading celebration with a Missouri Crunch Off with University of Missouri Extension’s, Tracy Minnis. Students crunched popcorn and apples from Missouri. #dewey45.

Don't forget, Hornet family!

Congratulations to Dewey for being recognized by the Chillicothe Constitution Tribune’s Official Reader’s Choice Awards as the 2022 Best of North Missouri Elementary School! Thank you to all the citizens that took the time to vote! #dewey45
