CES Student Leadership Election Our 5th Grade Wings class, under the direction of Mrs. Chambers, organized the CES Student Leadership Team election. Each of our 37 classrooms nominated one representative for their grade level, and candidates presented speeches to their peers explaining why they would make strong leaders. This week, students cast their votes, and the results will be announced soon. We have so many student leaders at CES and are so proud of all of the candidates!

What a great day to be a Hornet! ❤️ This morning, the CHS Leadership Class hosted an incredible K–5 pep rally filled with school spirit and special guests—including the CHS Cheerleaders, the Marching Hornets, and of course, our favorite mascot, Buzz! Congratulations to our 2nd and 5th graders for taking home the spirit stick this year—they brought the energy! 🎉 A huge thank-you to our amazing PTO volunteers and the CMS Student Council for helping us walk students to the stadium and keeping everything running smoothly. The Hornet hive is buzzing with pride! ❤️🖤❤️

“Let Your Kind Shine” Kindness is everywhere at CES! The three recipients of this week's awards were nominated by a teacher or staff member for showing exceptional kindness. They received a sunshine bag and the opportunity to sit in the yellow sunshine chair over the next week to promote kindness throughout CES! Ramzi Clayton (Mrs. Heckman’s Kindergarten Class) Ramzi goes above and beyond to make sure that everyone he loves is taken care of. If he sees a friend hurt he checks on them and helps them to feel better with many hugs. When he sees someone who accidentally made a mess he is the first to go help clean it up. His kindness and joyfulness makes our classroom the best place to be at CES! Brynlea Rainey (Mrs. Schneider’s 3rd Grade Class) Brynlea has the biggest heart! I daily see her helping others and encouraging her classmates. She works so hard to always be a great leader in our classroom and school. She will often help others without being asked, give another student a boost of confidence with kind words and has a gift of seeing those who are sad or hurting (without them saying a word). Keep SHINING, Brynlea Kay!! Deveinia Alexander (Mrs. Thompson’s 4th Grade Class) Deveonia shines bright every day, arriving with a happy heart and a big smile. She’s always ready to jump into any task with positive energy. Best of all, she spreads sunshine by helping classmates and sharing her cheerful smile with everyone.

🚜⚠️ Farm Safety Our 4th grade CES students visited the Litton Campus this week to participate in interactive learning stations focused on farm safety. They gained valuable lessons on water safety, grain bin safety, poison awareness, and several other important topics. A big thank you to all the educators, volunteers, and guest speakers who made this event possible—and a special thanks to coordinator Cathy Ripley from the Livingston County Health Center for arranging this valuable experience! 👏 As a reminder, September is National Farm Safety and Health Month—a great time to reinforce these important safety practices at home and in our community.
