Ms. Deena Ogle is one of our awesome substitute teachers here at Chillicothe R-II Schools! She has subbed for seven years and works mostly at the High School, the Middle School and Chillicothe Elementary School.
Deena explains that she enjoys substitute teaching in the District and here’s why: “I enjoy teaching and helping the students to strive for the best as well as listening and showing compassion for others. She says she enjoys subbing for Special Education, English and History teachers the most.
She says that she would tell anyone interested in substitute teaching that, while it helps to have lots of patience and understanding, it can be a very rewarding experience. “I love to have that feeling that I can reach out and make a difference,” she says, adding “I am very grateful and honored to be working with kids of all ages.”
Deena, a native of Gallatin, Mo., has a 19 year-old daughter, Ariel who is currently a freshman at North Central Missouri College studying business; and a step son, Bradley, who has graduated from the University of Missouri, Kansas City with a business and marketing degree. Deena enjoys reading mystery and biography novels, loves comedy and true crime shows/moves, and loves Chinese food and baking anything chocolate when she’s not working.
