The CHS National Honor Society chapter is hosting a book drive now through Friday, September 20th! They are collecting new or gently used books to donate to the Livingston County Library. The books will then be used to stock the LCL's Little Free Libraries located in Simpson Park and Silver Moon Plaza!
If you have books to donate, you can drop them off at any school office. NHS members will also collect books at the Homecoming football game near the main entry gate this Friday, September 20th!

The anticipation is mounting as Homecoming is just a few days away! Take a stroll down memory lane with these photos from the CHS Homecoming 1998. Can you spot any familiar faces?

Congratulations to the softball team on winning the Chillicothe Softball Tournament championship and going 3-0 on the weekend!
Congratulations to the volleyball team on placing 2nd in the Chillicothe Volleyball Tournament and going 4-1 on the weekend!

Road Construction Information Near Chillicothe High School-
Hornet Road, north of the main parking lot and high school, will be closed this Tuesday through Thursday due to the construction and installation of a new pipe under the roadway. Please be aware and take alternate routes for arrival and departures if you plan to go northward out of the Chillicothe High School parking lot or usually arrive from the north using Hornet Road. Access to CHS and the main student parking lot will still be available from the south and Route 190 highway.

Officials from Chillicothe R-II School District were alerted to a potential threat of a school shooting at CHS, as circulated on Snapchat. The threat claimed that the school shooting would take place on Monday, September 16. The threat was promptly investigated by local law enforcement, including School Resource Officer Mike Lewis from CHS. The investigation revealed that the threat was actually targeted towards a CHS in another state. As such, there is no credible threat against our students at Chillicothe High School or any other facilities or events within the Chillicothe R-II School District. However, to ensure utmost safety, local law enforcement will be conducting additional walkthroughs in district buildings on Monday. We, as district officials, are grateful for the swift response and thorough investigation conducted by our local law enforcement to ensure the safety of our students and staff.

Homecoming is just a week away and this year, we thought we would take a look at CHS Homecomings of the past. Can you see any familiar faces in these photos from Homecoming 2013?

Join us in cheering on our CMS & CHS athletes this weekend! We also extend our best wishes to our students who are traveling tomorrow to audition for the NW District Choir. We believe in you! For more info, click here: https://www.meconference.org/public/genie/971/school/5/

Congratulations to Gavin Cooper, Benson Summers, Jackson Fagan, Trevor Peniston, Allie West, Lydia Gabrielson, and Dreavyn Livengood, they are R.A.K.E. award winners. They were identified as doing the following;
Gavin Cooper and Benson Summers —They both took it upon themselves to sharpen a box of pencils so they are ready for students who may need to use them.
Jackson Fagan - Jackson came into class and noticed the chairs were still up on the tables from the night before and took them all down for everyone without being asked.
Trevor Peniston - Helped a student clean up a glitter mess off the floor (which is no easy task!)
Allie West- Was extremely patient and kind while helping an underclassman that was struggling with technology
Lydia Gabrielson - Volunteered to help Jr. Class Sponsors fill up the coolers at the concession stand for Friday night's football game
Dreavyn Livengood - When a teacher asked her class "who can help me take things to my car for the jr. concession stand?" Draevyn was the first one to volunteer! I appreciated his help!
If you see these individual students from CHS, please feel free to congratulate them for representing CHS in such a high manner and showing high character!

Congratulations to Allie West and Landyn Peterson, CHS Students of the Week for the week of 9-3 to 9-6,
If you see them, please feel free to congratulate them for representing CHS in such a high manner.
