Thoughtful Tuesday: During February, the counseling department wants to promote students and families developing healthy relationships. Below are listed characteristics of healthy and unhealthy relationships. These traits can be used to help identify all types of relationships - whether it is a friendship or a romantic relationship.

The 57th annual Celebrity Band Concert will be in the Chillicothe High School PAC on Tuesday, February 13, at 7:00 P.M. Tickets at the door are $4 for adults and $3 for children. The concert will feature alto saxophone soloist Nick Foster.

Congratulations to Christian McLean, he is the R.A.K.E. award winner. He was identified as doing the following;
Christian is always my go-to when students need chemistry help during advisory. He drops everything and is always willing to help others with their homework. Today he stopped working on his work to help another student with a chemistry question!

Congratulations to Gracelynn Barnett and Trent Jacobs, CHS Students of the Week for the week of 1-29 through 2-2.
If you see them, please feel free to congratulate them for representing CHS in such a high manner.

Thoughtful Tuesday: During the month of February the Counseling Department wants to promote students and families developing healthy boundaries. We all need boundaries to help keep our relationships healthy. Below are qualities of a good friend. If a friend isn't treating you this way, it might be time to set some boundaries with that person.

Congratulations to Brennin Shoop, he is the R.A.K.E. award winner. He was identified as doing the following;
Brennin saw a sub teacher in the hallway that couldn't find the classroom she was supposed to go to so he took her to the right place without a second thought!

Chillicothe High School Seniors - Important information for ALL future students going on to any Post-Secondary education in 2024-2025.
If you or a family member are going to college in 2024-2025, please read!
Colleges will not receive the 2024-2025 FAFSA's you've been filing until mid-March. The feds have to correct a calculation issue, which is causing additional delay. Schools are trying to figure out if anything can be done, but this will likely result in extended delays in sending financial aid offers. Please be kind to the financial aid folks. They also feel helpless right now! All schools across the nation are in the same boat.
We've not seen anything like this in financial aid. We understand the frustration and worry these delays can cause. Please know that financial aid offices are doing their best and working with the limited resources that they have.

Chillicothe High School Basketball Games Added -
Due to the loss of games to snow and ice earlier this season, Chillicothe High School has added basketball games for this evening to the original schedule. The girls will be traveling to state-ranked Centralia for a JV/V contest starting at 5:30 pm. The boys will be at home vs. state-ranked Platte Valley for a V contest starting at 7:00 pm. Feel free to find a gym and support the basketball teams vs. high-quality competition if you are looking for something to do this evening.

We appreciate our building counselors! Thank you, for making an impact on our students! You are amazing!

Congratulations to Mia White and Talina Gutierrez, they are the R.A.K.E. award winners. They were identified as doing the following;
These girls went out of their way to find a broom and dustpan and clean up the little pieces of crayons that were dropped and left all over the D Wing hallway.

Congratulations to Keonia Morgan and Cooper Robinson, CHS Students of the Week for the week of 1-22 through 1-26.
Additionally, congratulations to Anthony Trantham and Maddie Beetsma, they were students of the week for the week just before Christmas and were not recognized properly at that time.
If you see them, please feel free to congratulate them for representing CHS in such a high manner.

Thoughtful Tuesday: For the month of January the counseling department wants to promote diversity and the acceptance of others who are different from ourselves. We want to challenge you this month to have a conversation with someone who looks, believes, or lives differently than you do. Hearing someone else's story can open our eyes to new perspectives and our hearts to extend more empathy to others.

We have some exciting news! The HVAC units are being installed in the new Chillicothe Elementary School expansion today, which means we're another step closer to having all elementary students in one building!

Girls basketball will play a rescheduled game at home tonight vs. class 5 state-ranked Smithville, JV starts at 5:30 pm and V will follow. Come out and support the lady hornet basketball team tonight for this rescheduled game at the Chillicothe High School gym vs. a high-quality team.
