rootEd Alliance, a national philanthropic organization dedicated to ensuring students in rural communities graduate on a path to achieve career success and economic stability, today announced 32 high school graduates from rural communities across Missouri will receive scholarships to attend a four-year college or university in the coming year. The rootEd scholarships total up to $12,000 per student annually and are renewable through graduation or up to five years.
Chillicothe High School is pleased to announce that 2023 graduate Keegan Peterson was awarded the rootEd scholarship.


Congratulations to Alice Hurtgen and Ellie Condron, they are R.A.K.E. award winners. They were identified as doing the following;
Ellie Condron - daily assists a handicapped classmate (carries his books, waits to walk beside him in the hall).
Alice Hurtgen - stopped as she was walking by to help a student who dropped multiple items.



Congratulations to Jolie Bonderer and Laik Graham, CHS Students of the Week for the week of 8-28 through 9-1.

Chillicothe school district's Counseling Team is working on promoting healthy living throughout the school year. Each month we will have tips to help students & families create healthy habits. September's theme is Mental Wellness.

The Chillicothe High School football game vs. Putnam County at home on 9-4 and the cross country meet on 9-5 have been moved back to 5:00 p.m. for start times due to forecasted higher temperatures.

Congratulations to Connor Wilson, Makaila Kennedy, and Silas Midgyett, they are R.A.K.E. award winners. They were identified as doing the following;
Connor Wilson - Returned money to the office that was stuck in the commons vending machine.
Makaila Kennedy - Stayed after class and put up all the chairs on top of the tables for me.
Silas Midgyett - Silas was spotted in D wing carrying two backpacks, two lunch boxes, and a water bottle. He was so kind to help out an injured student who was on crutches and unable to carry it all herself.

Congratulations to Grant Leamer and Alyssa Tolbert, they are R.A.K.E. award winners at Chillicothe High School. They were identified as doing the following;
Grant helped open the front door to the school as a student that is wheelchair-bound arrived at school.
Alyssa comforted another student who was upset during lunch.

Chillicothe High School Reminders: School begins tomorrow August 22 for all students of Chillicothe High School at 7:55 am. There's a new stop sign on Hornet Road before the circle drive, so be on the lookout and be ready to stop! Chromebooks will be distributed to all students during their English class tomorrow. Please make sure you pay the Chromebook insurance fee if you have not already done so. Fall sports Meet the Hornets begins at 5:30 pm at CHS with the introduction of athletes at 7:00 pm in the gym. The football parking space auction will occur at 7:45 pm in the east side parking lot at the stadium near the turf surface.
