United We Stand.” This phrase has long served as a rallying cry in American history - from the founding of the nation, through time of war, civil rights struggles, natural disasters, and national healing. It symbolizes strength through togetherness, the belief that a diverse group of people can come together to uphold liberty, justice and democracy. This project was created to purchase a library-binded classroom set (25) of the book For Which We Stand: How Our Government Works and Why It Matters by Jeff Foster that reflects these values in both historical and modern contexts. The selected books will support academic goals in both 4th Grade Reading and 4th Grade Social Studies while also encouraging civic awareness, empathy, and teamwork. These skills are essential for both personal growth and active citizenship

Our 1st graders explored the five senses in a spooky way over the past two days! Students used their sense of touch to feel three mystery items and made hypotheses about what each one could be—based only on what they felt. It was hands-on, spine-tingling fun!
