The Chillicothe R2 school district is having bus issues, school will be canceled for the Chillicothe R2 school district today 2-16-2023 and at Chillicothe High School. Basketball games at Kirksville this evening have been moved to Monday of next week.

Congratulations to Chillicothe High School's Yoo Jung Lee! She has qualified for the Girls State Wrestling Tournament by placing 2nd at the district tournament today. She is the first girls state qualifier in our school history.
The CHS staff is celebrating lunch with Kelce and Mahomes before Super Bowl LVII with a spectacular soup-er bowl party. A big "thank you" to Mary Lou Wilhoit, the best party planner and decorator in the Midwest, and for bringing Kelce and Mahomes.

Congratulations to Chillicothe High School head girls basketball coach Darren Smith on his 400th win of his basketball head coaching career. In his 9 seasons at Chillicothe High School his girls teams have averaged a record of 22-5. Congratulations on a remarkable coaching accomplishment!

Chillicothe High School Jam the Gym Information: Chillicothe High School will be hosting it's annual Jam the Gym for the 23rd time. Please come out and support the varsity girls and boys basketball teams vs. St. Joe Benton in a pair of big conference rivalry games at 6:00 pm on Friday, February 3rd at Chillicothe High School. Many fundraising activities and fundraising games will be going on during the evening to raise funds for the Verelle Peniston School. Someone will win $100 in the annual Flight for Cash paper airplane contest along with many, many, other prizes for those that participate. Come out and support the varsity basketball teams in a big conference rivalry matchup and enjoy the fundraising events for the evening this Friday!
