
Mark your calendars if you are a parent of a current sophomore at CHS. There will be lots of great information to help students make decisions for the second half of their high school careers. Location at CHS is yet to be decided.


Chillicothe High School will be hosting it's annual Jam the Gym for the 23rd time. Please come out and support the varsity girls and boys basketball teams vs. St. Joe Benton in a pair of big conference rivalry games at 6:00 pm on Friday, February 3rd at Chillicothe High School. Please see the attached flyer for all fundraising activities and fun and games that will be going during the evening to raise funds for the Verelle Peniston School. Someone will win $100 in the annual Flight for Cash paper airplane contest along with many, many, other prizes for those that participate. Come out and support the varsity basketball teams and enjoy the fundraising events for the evening this Friday!

Chillicothe High School C Club would like to promote ‘James Beemer Day’ Thursday, January 26th. Students and Faculty wear letter jackets in honor of CHS supporter, James Beemer on the Anniversary week of his passing in 2016. Donations may be made to the James Beemer Memorial fund at Beemer’s Clothing to give financial support to students who want to purchase letter jackets.


A big “Thank You” to the Chillicothe Rotary for honoring the Chillicothe High School Students of the Month for the months of September through December today with lunch during their program.


Congratulations to Dawson Ford, he is the R.A.K.E. award winner for the past few days. He was identified as doing the following;
Dawson came in this morning and put down all the chairs in my classroom before school started and it was much appreciated.

Landon helped me get into my classroom with all of my bags and items after they were scattered about when digging to find my classroom keys.

Congratulations to Zao Luna, Alton Keller, and Jayce Gatson they are the R.A.K.E. award winners for the past few days. They were identified as doing the following;
Zao Luna-Zao held the front door of the school open for most students as they entered the school on Friday!
Alton Keller-Alton went out of his way to come to find a teacher before school started to let her know that she had left her interior lights on in her car. Thanks, Alton!!
Jayce Gatson-Jayce helped another student with an issue and fixed a mechanical issue or problem in the bathroom area.




Chillicothe R-II is now the proud owner of a brand new, 71-passenger bus, which was recently delivered by Central States Bus Sales. The District bought the $96,980 bus with Volkswagen grant funds and a $36,000 District match. We hope our students enjoy their new ride!



Santa made his official visit to Chillicothe High School this morning as all students arrived checking on who has been naughty and who was being nice!

The game vs Macon scheduled for last night has been rescheduled for tomorrow night 12/15, starting at 6:00 at the high school. This will be a varsity girl/boy night only. JV will be rescheduled at a later date.
