Several staff members at Chillicothe R-II received wonderful news Wednesday, when Superintendent Dr. Dan Wiebers, along with members of the Chillicothe Education Foundation, surprised them with certificates recognizing them as winners of mini grants.
The Chillicothe Education Foundation is committed to fostering excellence in education through its mini-grant competition. This round of winners featured 24 applications, totaling an impressive $13,445 in funding—the highest amount ever awarded by the CEF at one time. These grants will be used to enhance classroom experiences and upgrade equipment and technology throughout the District. (To view pictures of all of the winners, click on this link.)
Dr. Wiebers expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Chillicothe Education Foundation, noting the competitive nature of the grant applications, which was evident in this latest round. He also acknowledged several local organizations and individuals who generously contributed to the mini grants, including the families of the late Dr. William L. Fair and the late Patty Palmer, as well as the Super 70s Rockin’ Reunion and Bill and Inger Young.
“We had an amazing morning awarding these mini grants to our enthusiastic staff!” said Dr. Wiebers. He added, “Thanks to the ongoing support of the Chillicothe Education Foundation and our generous community, our staff can implement new and innovative technology and teaching strategies to keep students engaged, involved, and excited about learning.”
