R-II Board of Education

The Chillicothe R-II School Board convened for its regular April meeting last Tuesday night at the Administrative Offices, where the Board reorganized and elected new officers following the certification of the results from the April 8, 2025 Municipal Election.

During the open meeting, the Board took time to recognize Board President Clint Williams for his years of dedicated service. Williams, who chose not to run for another term, has been a valued member of the Board since 2019 and has served as Board President for the past two years. In appreciation of his contributions, he was presented with a plaque honoring his service.

The meeting also included a vote to "Sine Die," which dissolved the old Board of Education. Following this, the swearing-in of re-elected Board member Bill Hayen and newly-elected Board member Dr. Megan Lent took place. The ceremony was officiated by Board Secretary Laura Schuler, marking a new chapter for the Board as it reorganizes to continue its mission of supporting the Chillicothe School District.

Following the swearing-in ceremony, the Board elected new officers: Brice Walker was appointed President after previously serving as Vice President; Bill Hayen was elected Vice President, having served perviously as Board Treasurer; Allison Pickering was named Treasurer; and Laura Schuler will continue in her role as Secretary. The election of officers was approved unanimously.

As the Board moves forward, it remains committed to fostering a strong educational environment and supporting the needs of students and staff alike.
