As MO FCCLA State Vice President of Community Service, Addi spent September 21–22 in Jefferson City attending the FCCLA Roadshow and DESE Family & Consumer Sciences Mentoring meetings. Addi, FCCLA Adviser Mrs. Christy, and State President Lydea Britt (Salisbury) presented to both groups on a variety of FCCLA topics and helped share the impact FCCLA has on students across our state.
Addi and Lydea also had the opportunity to visit with Travis Plume, Assistant Commissioner in the Office of College & Career Readiness, to talk about their involvement in FCCLA and the leadership experiences it provides.

Our CMS and CHS runners are hosting the Chillicothe Cross Country Invitational today at Simpson Park. We’ll have over 300 runners from 13 North Missouri schools competing!

Working in teams, students solved puzzles entirely in Spanish by finding and decoding hidden clues placed all around the room. It was a great challenge that required collaboration, communication, and critical thinking—while reinforcing what they’ve been learning in class.

See You at the Pole™ is a global movement of prayer that is student-initiated, student-organized, and student-led. Each year, students come together to pray on the fourth Wednesday in September, joining thousands of others around the world doing the same.

CHS Chess Club members meet every Tuesday morning to hone their skills, practice strategy, and enjoy some friendly competition.

Chillicothe R-II School District is in urgent need of drivers with CDLs to help transport our students to athletic and activity trips. Right now, we’re struggling to fill trips for our fall athletes and club members traveling to area events, and we want to make sure every student has the opportunity to participate and compete.
Have a CDL and interested in earning some extra cash? Please consider applying to be a trip driver.
Don’t have a CDL yet? We can provide free training—and it doesn’t take that much time. If you’ve ever thought about driving, this is a great way to get started and support our students.

Mrs. Hall’s Foods classes and Mrs. Shaffer’s Hospitality & Tourism/ProStart classes partnered with community partner Dustin Rennells for a hands-on culinary learning experience!
Dustin brought his wealth of knowledge and experience from the culinary world into our classrooms with a demonstration focused on professional knife skills, techniques, and safety. Students had the opportunity to see firsthand how proper knife handling and cutting techniques are used in a professional kitchen.
We are so thankful for community partners like Dustin who take the time to share their expertise with our students and help connect what they are learning in the classroom to real-world culinary careers.

Thank you to our dedicated Chillicothe R-II School Resource Officers (SROs) for leading a very successful intruder training event yesterday during our planned professional development day.
We also want to sincerely thank our local first responders for taking part in the drill, along with a few members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Your time, teamwork, and professionalism help us strengthen our readiness and keep our schools safe, secure, and prepared.
