Chillicothe R-II is now the proud owner of a brand new, 71-passenger bus, which was recently delivered by Central States Bus Sales. The District bought the $96,980 bus with Volkswagen grant funds and a $36,000 District match. We hope our students enjoy their new ride!

Due to severe cold and winter weather conditions, all Chillicothe R-2 Facilities will be closed from Thursday 12/22 -Monday 12/26. No practices, meetings or events will be held in any CR-2 facilities during this time.

Just a friendly reminder that Chillicothe R-II Schools will dismiss early on Friday, December 16th for winter break and classes will resume on Wednesday, January 4th. We are wishing all of our Hornet family a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

We'd like to give a huge shoutout to Gwen Fitzpatrick, a junior at CHS and Hornet Academy, who has worked hard this week to make the Administrative Offices more festive by "wrapping" our Hornet Hives! Way to go, Gwen, for a job well done!

The Chillicothe R-II School District has received a $4,233 gift from BTC Bank. The donated funds were proceeds from a Hornet debit card promotion. We are so thankful for the support of BTC Bank and our other community businesses!

Field School Principal Terria Cox greeted her students this (Wednesday) morning in true Thanksgiving Day spirit! Remember, Hornet family, there is NO SCHOOL tomorrow (Wednesday), Thursday or Friday (Nov. 23-25) for Thanksgiving break. Have a happy Thanksgiving!

While R-II School students did not have classes today (Tuesday), building leadership teams from all three elementary schools began planning today for the eventual transition to 1 elementary school as part of the planned in-service day for staff. It's a great day to be a Hornet!

The Chillicothe High School Leadership Class offered their time and talent this (Monday) morning in an effort to provide some direction to their peers when they exit the high school parking lot. Thanks for a job well done!

Gov. Parson is visiting Dewey School this (Thursday) morning in recognition of Dewey's National Blue Ribbon Award status and we'll post pictures soon! Please note - because of this visit, there is increased law enforcement presence in the area.

Our teachers are always learning! Last (Monday) night, they began a study on Ruby K. Payne's Emotional Poverty research. Ruby Payne holds a Ph.D., and is an American educator and author best known for her work on the culture of poverty and its relation to education.

Here's just a few pictures showing what's going to be auctioned off tomorrow morning (Oct. 21st) at 10 AM in the Chillicothe High School parking lot! There's chairs, tables, kitchenware, vehicles, and much, much more!
